EBMT Summit on COVID-19
SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has been a tsunami, impacting nearly all aspects of our life, personal, social and of course, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). In the last months EBMT provided regular up-to-date information about the pandemic, prevention and treatment options for our immunocompromised patients including vaccination recommendations. Because the flow of information and recommendations run as fast as the pandemic, being difficult to have an update and global vision of it, EBMT decided to launch the 1st International EBMT Summit on COVID-19
The Infectious Diseases Working Party, in collaboration with the Transplant Complications Working Party, Autoimmune Diseases Working Party, Nurses Group, Donor Outcomes Team and JACIE, is very pleased to invite you to the first virtual EBMT Summit on COVID-19 from the 29th of June to the 1st of July 2021.
It will be a 3-day meeting, that review essential aspects of SARS-CoV-2 from virology (variants, what do they mean and its implications; transmission mechanism), to donors issue, quality standards, clinical Impact and management in HSCT patients, other infections (bacterial, fungal and viral infection), nursing, and finally, immune response and its implication in HSCT and vaccination (what is a protective immunity; immune response to SARS-CoV-2 in HSCT patients; types of vaccines, experiences in immunosuppressed/HSCT patients and recommendations).
For sure it will give you the latest updates on this infection, contributing to better understanding its impact and management in HSCT patients.
Please save the date. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the EBMT Summit on COVID-19.
